In Vietnam, shrimp processors and exporters have faced difficulties in exports due to the increasingly strict technical barriers related to disease-free certification requirement put up by importing countries. Recently, six countries — Australia, the Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, China, Brazil and Mexico—have said they would only buy shrimp products with disease-free certification in accordance with World Organization for Animal Health regulations or other authorized certification agencies. The above markets account for 25 percent of Vietnam’s total shrimp exports, which is valued at 800 million USD a year.1

On 10th August 2017, we were invited to join the Halal Laboratory Workshop organized by INHART Laboratory at the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), Gombak. The workshop was held in conjunction with the International Halal Assembly 2017 (IHA). Apart from knowledge sharing on Halal Science, we were also given the chance to display line-up of our products ranging from the HALTEST Pork Dipstick Test which targets the end consumer to the PorcineTrace Real-Time PCR Kit which utilizes a more sophisticated technology for lab specialists.
